JobJitsu Non-goals

What the AI Career Operating System will not become — even if competitors do.

Parent: PRODUCT_VISION.md · See also: PRINCIPLES.md · FEATURES.md

If a proposal requires a non-goal, it is out of vision — redesign or reject.

Non-goals

Non-goalWhy
A job boardWe operate on the hunt; we do not become the marketplace
Cloud SaaS that holds résumés by defaultPrivacy is architecture, not a toggle
Subscription hostage modelNo locking career data behind paywalls
Spray-and-pray autopilotVolume without leverage contradicts mastery
Fully autonomous “we land the job for you”Agent prepares; human owns send and career claims
Urgency / streak / guilt growth loopsAnxiety is not a growth metric
Employer-side surveillance or ranking of candidatesWe serve the seeker’s craft, not hiring funnels against them
Purple-glow AI chatbot noveltyPrecision tool, not hype demo
Hostile “crush recruiters / beat ATS at all costs” framingGentle redirection; employers aren’t enemies
Mobile-first social feed of jobsDesktop-native OS; focus over infinite scroll
Guaranteed interviews or offersHonest claims only
Advertising or resale of user career dataBetrays the dojo

Clarifications

Not a job board means JobJitsu may help discover and curate roles from sources the user chooses; it does not become the listing marketplace or monetize candidate attention against employers.

Not fully autonomous means high-stakes outbound actions (apply, send follow-up) remain user-sovereign by default. Prep work may be automated; ownership of the throw may not be taken away.

Not urgency theater means no inactivity shaming, streak pressure, or red-badge panic for benign counts — consistent with brand voice and notification guidelines.

Alignment

Non-goals reinforce brand essence: calm confidence, on-device trust, technique over force. See ../brand/PRODUCT_PHILOSOPHY.md and ../brand/VOICE_AND_TONE.md.
